Evening events on New Year’s Eve

2015 is coming soon and you still don’t know what to do? Here are some tips for the perfect evening in London!

New Year’s Eve Fireworks

In the past few years the popularity of London’s New Year’s Eve firework display has rocketed. Our prodigious pyrotechnics make other cities’ look like damp squibs. This makes more and more people every year to show up to see the spectacle live. So many, in fact, that this year for the first time the show is going to be ticketed. The £10 cost will go towards the cost of safety and administration.

Wed Dec 31, South Bank

New Year’s Eve at The View from The Shard

Is New Year’s Eve usually a massive let down? Well, 2014’s won’t be if you buy a ticket to The View from The Shard’s party for just £99. Start 2015 on a high, the highest point in Western Europe in fact, as the world famous attraction is offering you the chance to party the night (and year) away while you watch the whole of London bid farewell to the year gone by and welcome the new.

Wed Dec 31, The Shard, Joiner St, SE1 9QU

Timber!

There’s a new type of circus in town and it’s all about the white vests and bushy beards. ‘Timber!’, which makes its UK debut here, pays homage to the woodlands and logging traditions of Quebec. It’s intentionally rough around the edges and the acts are performed using stuff you might find lying around in a lumberjack’s barn, while the performers are huge, muscled and tattooed.

Sun Dec 21 – Wed Dec 31, Queen Elizabeth Hall South Bank, SE1 8XX

Disappearing Dining Club: NYE Dinner Dance

This grand bash from pop-up party crew Disappearing Dining Club is set in the Chainstore, a waterside Victorian warehouse in the Docklands connected to London’s only remaining lighthouse. It’s not the cheapest of NYE options, but you certainly get plenty of bang for your buck here: a welcome cocktail, a range of canapés, a four-course dinner and DJs spinning tunes until 4am. This lot are undisputed pros at hosting great events and serving exquisite food, so sit back, scoff, natter and dance. A classy, delicious and massively fun way to welcome in 2015, with some amazing views across the Thames.

Wed Dec 31, 7pm-4am, The Chainstore, Trinity Bouy Wharf, E14 0JY
