Palmers Calling All Cricket Fans!

Hello Darlings! Yes, its that time of the year when you whip out those balls and bats and have a smashing time! Of-course I am talking about cricket season! What where you thinking ;p

Anyhooo Palmers lodges could not be in a more ideally location for the cricket fans! Yes just a few stops away on the underground and your at the home of the world famous cricket pitch, Lords. Lords was founded in 1787 by the,,, snooz   Lets not bore ourselves with the bladie bla of the history and get ourselves tickets!

For those who have no idea of how cricket is played, here is a short explanation;

Cricket is a game wherein there are 9 players waiting for the ball to be hit towards them. The 10th is the pitcher and the 11th is a wicket keeper who stands behind the wickets (the 3 sticks). The batsman defends his stumps (or wicket) while trying to hit the ball far enough from the fieldsmen to run to the other end before the ball is retrieved. If both batters switch ends before the ball returns (and hits the stumps), one run is added, if they have time to run again, two runs are added, and so on. four runs are added if the ball hits the perimeter of the playing arena, and six runs are added if it carries over the perimeter on the full. Common ways a batsman can get out include: caught (on the full), bowled (ball hits stumps while batting), LBW (leg before wicket, using your body instead of your bat to stop the ball, hitting the stumps when batting) and run out (ball hits stumps while batsman is running). When ten of the eleven batsmen are out, the team is “all out”(the last man can’t bat alone.) and the other team wins! Understand? Still or now even more confused? Well then you had better get your gorgeous booties over to Lords then! 😀

Check out the schedule below and order your tickets online on the Lords website.
