So I’ve been in London for over two years now and I still haven’t run out of things to see and do. But when the sky is blue and the sun is shining I can’t think of anything better to do than get outside and explore all the parks London has to offer. My favourite at the moment is Primrose Hill. I send a text around to my mates to see who’s free but most of the time they’re working till 5 L So, I figure I’ll head down to St Johns Wood and take a tour of Lords. I’m a bit of a sports geek so being at Lords is like the Holy Grail of Cricket for me. Not to mention the amazing buildings they have, old and new, and it’s great to get a close up look at the infamous slanted pitch.
After a few hours meandering around Regents Park with a picnic lunch (that I kindly share with the swans) I start the walk towards Primrose Hill. Past the beautiful rose gardens, the mass amounts of footballers, the zoo (from which I can hear some very loud monkeys) and finally my last challenge, the step walk up the south side of the hill. Not for the faint hearted it’s a short walk but reasonably steep. However once I reach the top (huffing and puffing) the view is totally worth it. I can see all the sights of London in one massive panorama. And as my friends turn up with the beers and cider, and the sun starts to melt away into the distance the hill turns into a friendly mix of strangers, tourists and locals all there to enjoy the fading light of the sun and the brightening city lights of London.
