We cannot stop gloating today. We have won another Best Customer Service recognition this year. This time we were awarded by the British Education Travel Association during their annual ceremony, The 2012 British Youth Travel Awards .
Last night at Westfield Stratford, hundreds of representatives from organisations operating in the youth travel and hospitality industry gathered to cheer the winners in the 2012 British Youth Travel Awards. “Palmers Lodge Boutique Hostels were crowned winners of the Customer Service Award in recognition of their commitment to excelling in customer care.”
The staff at Palmers Lodge staff is trained in the 9 basic principles of hospitality including the key belief that “if you take care of your customers they in turn will take care of you”. Palmers’ award entry application explained how the company has found that having customer-focused staff starts a chain reaction of happy customers, positive recommendations and a growing profit line; turnover has increased by 16.6% year on this year to date.
Nate Bucjolz of Google UK, who was part of the judging panel said “The quality of the applicants was impressive. Large and small, there are travel companies doing some really great and innovative things in the UK.”
In the word of our Operations Manager, Titus Wilson: “We are delighted to be acknowledged with this award, we would like to thank the entire Palmers Team for their efforts in this Olympic year.” Palmers Lodge Swiss Cottage was also a finalist in the Best Accommodation category for British Youth Travel.
