Palmers Poem

by Alison Meakin

Palmers Lodge Hill spring from the road can’t be seen,
Placed conveniently for underground in Willesden Green.

Amiable staff available twenty four seven,
Away from home a safe haven.

Lodges two, with Swiss Cottage not far away,
Lockers provided free or for hire throughout you stay.

Management and housekeeping never far away,
Marvellous welcome arrival whatever time of day.

Every nation according to map has visited here,
Evening bar open with reception chiller of bottled beer.

Souvenirs from reception to buy,
Shower gel and shampoo to restock can supply.

Harmonious and happy atmosphere
Happy teenage party bookings provide lots of cheer.

Idyllic gardens where to enjoy and rest,
Illuminated coloured caged parrots I like best.

London attractions and bus tour tickets at discounted price.
Likable staff print them off in a trice.

Little ones welcome that can sleep in a bed,
Lots of school parties, teacher led.

Sainsbury’s in the High Road do a roaring trade,
Superb guest kitchen available for meals to be made.

Parties can take advantage of an evening meal,
Prepared lunch packs can also be part of the deal.

Reliable kitchen staff prepare breakfast to begin the day,
Reheating croissants to eat the best way.

Information always on hand from reception staff,
Incredulous guest stories make them laugh.

Night staff ensure we have a peaceful sleep,
Night time incidents to themselves they keep.

Going to London for more than a day?
Golden secret: Palmers Lodges are the places to stay!
